I am looking to book both a standard room and a standard room with 5th sleeper in Port Orleans Riverside for next year August. If I book two rooms (have to make two bookings), will we get two rooms next to each other? Or at least in the same building?

    Hiya Esther!

Welcome to planDisney! Disney's Port Orleans- Riverside is such a unique resort. It's one of those Resorts where you don't know what you will experience. One moment you see a columned mansion and then a backwater bayou cottage. All themed to the beauty of Louisiana!

This Resort is great for families of 5 as the Standard 5th Sleeper is found in all of the buildings located in the Alligator Bayou section which encompasses 16 buildings. These rooms come with two Queen beds and a Murphy bed labeled as a child bed or 5th Sleeper. Any small human could sleep fine on these beds as I know some adults who enjoy them with no issues. When reviewing which rooms can connect to this 5th Sleeper room I found that the best option is to get a Standard King room which tend to be in the same buildings as the 5th Sleepers. The Standard view with 2 Queens seems to only be in Magnolia Terrace and Acadian House which are at the opposite end of the Resort from Alligator Bayou. You may have success with getting a River View room to have it be in the same building or area as the 5th Sleepers. Now, in the end, you can choose the view and beds but the actual building selection will be made by Cast Members at the Resort right before you arrive. It is based on so many factors including availability, your arrival time, and room type. During online check-in from your My Disney Experience Account, there may be a chance to make room requests but these fields are now from a pre-filled selection list that could include the option for a "higher floor" or "near elevator." It doesn't allow space for you to note a specific building or the preference to be near your other room. I suggest you call Disney Resort Hotel Reservation to set it up so that both of your reservations can be linked and your building preferences be noted. Remember, these are just requests and may not always be guaranteed. I found that just asking though means that they will try their best. If you find when you arrive that the rooms selected for you are not what you like, then head to the Front Desk as soon as possible to see if they can help resolve this issue.

I hope you make time to see Yehaa Bob Jackson at River Roost Lounge! He's usually there about four nights a week from 8:30 pm to 11:45 pm! (These times can change!) He's a legend and a hoot to watch.

I hope this helps and if you have any more questions please let me know directly

    Happy Planning!
