we are looking to book a resort stay for our family of 4 and my parents in Feb 2023, kids would be staying with them in the same area, we were wanting to book in the safari area but when I go to check reservations it doesn't let me go past Dec 2022

Hi there, Shane. Welcome to planDisney. Thanks for dropping by to chit-chat with me about planning your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation.

Shane, a trip to Walt Disney World sounds like a perfect way to kick off 2023. It truly is the most magical place on earth. I've stayed at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and it is so much fun. I love waking up to a view of the savannah with giraffes casually enjoying their breakfast!

You are able to make a Walt Disney World Resort hotel-only stay reservation 499 days in advance. However, to book into 2023 right now you do need to call  (407) 939-1936 and have a Cast Member assist you with this. Currently, booking online only goes through the end of this year. Vacation packages for 2023 should be coming out within the next few months. When those are released you'll see availability on the calendar for your travel dates. However, if you do have a particular Walt Disney World Resort Hotel in mind that you'd like to stay at, like Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, I do suggest going ahead and calling to book now. When the vacation packages are released if there is something that works with your travel plans you can always call back and switch over to that at a later date. Some Walt Disney World Resort Hotels book up rather quickly so it's best to call as soon as possible if you have your heart set on a particular one. When you call to make a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel reservation, you'll need a few things. You will need to know your travel dates, which resort you'd like to stay at, your travel party and you'll be required to pay a $200 deposit.

I hope this helps clear up any confusion you might have had, Shane. If I can help you along your planning journey, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm happy to help.

    Have a great day!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
