I am looking to book a park hopper but only one of the parks is available as starting park. Would I still be able to go to the other park after 1pm? Or does both parks need to show available as starting parks even for the hopper?

Hey there, hi there, ho there!

And thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!

You ask a great question about park hopping. I always recommend park hopping across the Disney theme parks as a way to add even more magic to what's certain to be a most magical day. There's so much to enjoy in both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park.

When you purchase a Park Hopper ticket, you'll be guided through the steps to both purchase your ticket and make your theme park reservations.

When you select your date for your theme park reservation, you'll be prompted to select your starting park. You might see that both parks are available to choose as your starting park, or you might see that only one park is available to choose. You simply select one theme park as your starting theme park.

When you select your starting park and then enter that theme park first on the day of your visit, you'll be able to visit the other theme park (whether it was available as a starting park or not) after 1 p.m. and hop back and forth between the parks based on park capacity.

Hopefully this tip is helpful as you plan your theme park day. Be sure to check out Disney Parks Blog as a great way to stay in the know about all the magical happenings at the Disneyland Resort.

Meet the Panelist: Jerry, Pennsylvania

The playful and creative optimism of all things Disney has enthralled me since I was a kid. I loved watching "The Wonderful World of Disney" on Sunday nights, seeing all the live-action and animated classics in theaters, and — of course — visiting "The Most Magical Place on Earth" for the first time 45 years ago. These days, the big kid in me still loves to play Disney. As a long-time Disney destinations vacationer, I'm looking forward to helping you play Disney starting here at planDisney!
