Hi, Erin! Welcome to planDisney. It's great to have you cruise to us with your question!
Oh boy, your plans for next summer sound incredible! The
Disney Dream is a lovely ship, and the Norwegian Fjords itinerary is a bucket-list sailing for me. Your teenagers will have
plenty to do onboard, and the ports of call that you visit look absolutely magical. I'd love to give you some advice for choosing a
stateroom.
I recommend either a Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah or Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah, depending on how much space you think you might need with your kids. I have a ten and twelve-year-old, and we do well in the Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah, but it really is up to your personal preference for space. As far as location on the ship, I think Decks 8 and 9, near midship is a good place to start. If you want to be as conveniently located as possible, look for a stateroom near the elevators or staircases.
To be completely honest with you, I have sailed on almost every deck and have had staterooms in the aft, midship, and forward. All have been great experiences for my family. My best advice for those who are light sleepers is to avoid rooms that are directly below restaurants, the pool deck, and near the Walt Disney Theatre.
I hope that information is helpful to you! Best of luck in the planning process. Please sail back to us anytime with more questions. My pals and I really love to help.
