Looking to book a 4 night Disney cruise to Bahamas or Carribean and we will have 4 families. One family of 5; one family of 4 and two families of 3. Do all the ships have ability to get connecting rooms?

Ahoy, Nancy! Welcome to planDisney, where we aim to answer all of your Disney Cruise Line questions to ensure smooth sailing on your next vacation. It sounds like you are planning to sail with a large pirate crew and trying to find the best way to keep everyone together.

Every ship in the Disney fleet offers connecting staterooms, but there could only be an actual connecting door between two of the four staterooms that you need. If your goal is to have everyone staying near each other, I would recommend first looking for four staterooms in the same area of the ship and then seeing if any would be connecting from there. Disney Cruise Line allows you to book up to four staterooms online for a particular sailing, so you will be able to see all of your options online. However, since exact availability is going to vary by specific sailing date, you need to narrow down your desired cruise options first before looking at staterooms.

If you are specifically looking to set sail on a 4-night Bahamian or Caribbean cruise, then there are currently over 180 different options available to book. To help you make that number more manageable, I suggest first deciding which timeframe you are looking to sail during and then which departure port would be most convenient for your sailing party. You can currently book itineraries through September 2027 and can narrow your search down by month. Then you should decide if it would be easier for you to set sail from Port Canaveral near Orlando, Florida, Port Everglades near Fort Lauderdale, Florida, or Galveston, Texas.

You also need to keep in mind that many of the staterooms onboard only sleep a maximum of 4 guests. So, if you want to get staterooms close together, you will be limited by the stateroom category options available for the party of 5. For example, if you choose a sailing aboard the Disney Magic from Galveston, then the party of 5 would only be able to choose from the concierge category of staterooms for accommodations. In contrast, the Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, Disney Wish, and Disney Destiny all offer Deluxe Family Oceanview Staterooms and Deluxe Family Oceanview with Verandah Staterooms that sleep up to 5 guests. Choosing an itinerary aboard one of those four ships out of Florida is going to give you much more flexibility in finding four staterooms close together and offer a significant reduction in price compared to sailing concierge.

To see actual stateroom availability, you will need to first choose an itinerary and specific sailing date. From there, you can click the “View Staterooms” button and will be able to select the number of staterooms needed and the number of guests per stateroom. You will then be able to click on the button at the far right that says “Connecting Rooms” if you would like to see those options to connect a pair of rooms. Once you click on the blue “Confirm Travel Party” button, that will take you to the page to start selecting stateroom types, followed by decks, location, and stateroom numbers.

I know that is a lot of information, but remember that you can also always call Disney Cruise Line directly at (800) 951-3532. Booking agents are happy to answer your questions and are available to speak with you Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM EST, and Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM EST.

I hope you are able to find the perfect itinerary and stateroom for everyone. If you have other questions as you continue planning, you are always welcome back at planDisney. Happy sailing!
