I am looking to book 4-Night Bahamian Cruise from Fort Lauderdale March 30 - April 3, 2026 for 4 people, 2 adults and 2 kids ages 12 & 9. We are looking to book a verandah room. Is there a way to ensure bunk beds while booking?

Greetings, Jennifer, and welcome to planDisney! Finding a stateroom that comfortably sleeps everyone in your family is an important part of planning a Disney Cruise. I'm happy to help!

Jennifer, I have good news for you: As long as you include four Guests in your search on the Disney Cruise Line website, your results will only include staterooms that sleep four or more people. These rooms typically have a ceiling pull-down bed and a sofa bed, which together create a bunk bed setup. You can confirm this as you browse the available rooms. Select the type of stateroom you want (such as a Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah), and then choose a deck from Aft, Midship, or Forward. From there, click on an available room number to see its details, and look for the following: Queen Bed (Double), Sofa Bed (Single), and Ceiling Pull-Down Bed (Single).

As a family of four, we had this configuration when we sailed on the Disney Wonder last year. During the day, there is a couch to lounge on and a little extra space to move around. In the evening, the stateroom hosts provide a turndown service, which includes converting the couch to a bed and pulling down the ceiling bed. This added a fun, dynamic feel to our room, since it felt different depending on whether the beds were out or put away.

The cruise you're interested in is aboard the Disney Dream. There's so much to love about this ship! Uniquely themed rotational dining locations and lounges, Broadway-style shows, immersive kids clubs, and more will be waiting for you. Your 12-year-old will be able to go to Edge, which has lots of high-tech entertainment and activities for tweens. Your 9-year-old can play at the Oceaneer Club. Remember that the Youth Activities venues also offer Open House hours where the whole family can visit together.

Before we say goodbye, Jennifer, I want to mention how much I love that you're looking to get a room with a verandah. The private balcony feels like a calming sanctuary. When I sailed aboard the Disney Wish, I loved spending my mornings out there in the open air. Looking out at the vast horizon and different shades of blue is unlike anything else.

Jennifer, you're one step closer to creating long-lasting memories at sea. Remember, you can call Disney Cruise Line to speak with a Cast Member if you'd like some guidance in finalizing your plans and booking your trip. Of course, you're also welcome to visit us again at planDisney – we're always happy to help!
