Hi - we`re looking to book a multi generational family trip (ages 8-88) to Disney World for January 2026 and would like to know what resorts offer family rooms and/or rooms with cooking availability. Also when do packages become available for January 26

Welcome to planDisney, Lori! Thanks for stopping by with your vacation planning question.

I planned a 15-person multi-generational trip to Walt Disney World last year that included four kiddos under five years old, as well as grandparents. So I’m the guy to help you out!

To answer your second question first, vacation packages for 2026 aren’t available quite yet and a date has yet to be announced. In recent years they’ve become available in the late spring or early summer, but last year reservations for 2025 opened up in February 2024. So it’s possible that they could be available soon! I would keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog and Walt Disney World website for updates.

As for hotels to fit your family’s needs, it’s important to remember that each resort is unique, and room amenities and layout may differ from resort to resort. For example, rooms designated as family suites or villas are your best bet for having a living room, but be sure to read the room description—or check with a Cast Member on the Hotel Reservation line—to ensure the space will work for your crew.

When it comes to cooking, you have a lot of options for Disney Resort hotels with kitchenettes and kitchens. A kitchenette features a sink, microwave, toaster, refrigerator, coffee maker, and limited cookware, while a full kitchen includes all of the above as well as an oven, stove, and more cookware options. Here is a list of all the resorts that have rooms with kitchenettes or full kitchens.

    Value Resorts
    - Disney’s All-Star Music Resort
    - Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

    Deluxe Resorts
    - Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort
    - Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge
    - Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge
    - Animal Kingdom Villas - Jambo House
    - Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village
    - Beach Club Villas
    - BoardWalk Villas
    - Old Key West Resort
    - Polynesian Village Resort
    - Polynesian Villas & Bungalows
    - Riviera Resort
    - Saratoga Springs Resort
    - The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort
    - The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort

You can find photos of each room type and their cooking areas on each hotel’s webpage, but this may be another instance where you want to call a Cast Member to make sure the room you’re considering has your preferred amenities.

Lori, I hope this information helps you prepare for your amazing 2026 Disney Parks adventure. Don’t hesitate to come back to planDisney with more questions or if you’re looking for any trip tips, tricks, and recommendations.
