Hey, David! It's great to have a fellow North Carolinian stop by planDisney! I am so excited to see that you are planning a large family Walt Disney World vacation! I am the mom of a big family, so this is right down my alley! Taking all my children, sons-in-law, and grandson to The Most Magical Place on Earth is as good as it gets!
When you make your reservation on the
Walt Disney World website, you will be asked to confirm your travel party at checkout. After that, there is an option to make room requests. Select "Change," then choose "Nearby Room," and enter the name on one of the other reservations. Instruct the other individuals making reservations to do the same. If you have more than two rooms, I suggest you call
Walt Disney World Tickets and Reservations and speak to a Cast Member who will be happy to help you. Room requests are never guaranteed, but my experience has been that Cast Members do their best and can accommodate them most of the time.
Disney's All-Star Movies Resort is a great choice for your crew! We stayed there just last year! The theming is larger-than-life, the Fantasia-themed pool is lots of fun, and the World Premier Food Court is so convenient! Be sure to walk around the resort, because there are many fun photo opportunities.
Since you are planning to visit in December, keep an eye out for the numerous ways to celebrate the holidays.
Disney Parks Blog does a great job of detailing it all. From stunning decorations to mouth-watering treats, there's so much to see and do!
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is a favorite event that my family enjoys, but one of my favorite experiences is the
Christmas Tree Stroll at Disney Springs. I could spend hours staring at these elaborately themed trees! And good news - it's free!
I hope this is helpful, David. I just know that you will make magical memories to last a lifetime. You've still got lots of planning to do, so if there's anything else we can help with, just let us know here at
planDisney!
Always Dreaming -
