Looking to book a getaway using my points

Welcome Home, Angela - and welcome to the Disney Vacation Club corner of planDisney! I'm delighted to hear that you're thinking about using your Vacation Points for a magical trip this fall. It's always a great time for a Disney adventure!

As you are about 8 months out from your travels, you can currently book a stay at your Home Resort. Members enjoy what's called the Home Resort Priority Period, meaning that you can make a reservation at that specific resort beginning 11 months before your planned arrival date. You can book at any other DVC resorts 7 months prior to check-in.

To make a reservation, you can book online or call Member Services. If you have not logged onto the Member website before, the folks at Member Services can provide you with login information and get you set up! I recommend taking a look at the Points Charts first, so you are up to speed on how many points you'll need for this getaway. These will break down the exact number of points needed for each specific resort, type of accommodation, and season.

If you are hoping to stay somewhere other than your Home Resort, it's wise to book now at your Home Resort during the priority period to ensure that you have something confirmed, then try to modify your reservation to a different property at the 7-month mark. Again, you can modify on the Member website or call to make a change.

For online bookings, select the "Plan Vacation" option once you log into the Member website, then "Book a Vacation". You can then enter your travel dates and details of your party. If there is not full availability for your stay, you can create a Waitlist and your reservation will be confirmed automatically if your dates and room type become available.

Angela, I hope this information is just what you need to make your dreamy Disney getaway a reality. Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney, and please come see us again anytime if we can help with questions about your November trip, or your DVC Membership in general.

    Stay Magical!
