Hello! I am looking to book my first Disney trip for my daughters 8th bday! Very excited

    Hi Stephanie!

“Think of a wonderful thought...any merry little thought!” Well, you have because you’ve had the brilliant idea to plan a Walt Disney World vacation around your daughter’s birthday!

No matter who her favorite characters are, your daughter will be able to see them throughout the parks. What this will actually look like next June is anyone’s guess, but with any luck, Disney will be able to resume Character Greetings by then. Right now, the magic moments abound with surprise appearances. For example, outside The Crystal Palace, Pooh, Piglet and their friends from the Hundred Acre Wood pose on the porch while guests can take selfies and grab those photo opportunities from afar. Joy from Inside Out frolics around the gardens near the Imagination! Pavilion in EPCOT. These characters are still interacting with Guests, just from a safe social distance for now.

Currently, Mickey Mouse fans can find him in the “Mickey and Friends Cavalcade” (think mini parade) along with his pals as they surprise Guests throughout the day along the traditional parade route. Meanwhile, on Hollywood Boulevard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, processionals like a “Pixar Pals Motorcade” will feature familiar faces from The Incredibles and Toy Story. I’d suggest checking the My Disney Experience app for updated information on character appearances and where they will be located.

Here are some tried and true suggestions on how to make your daughter’s birthday extra special while at the Most Magical Place on Earth:

-Give her a Disney gift card and take her on a shopping spree where she gets to pick her favorite Disney souvenirs. When my kids were eight, they loved being able to make decisions for themselves and to be able to spend some money themselves. I’ll bet that would be a fun experience and she will cherish the gifts all the more because she got to select them!

-Pick up a free Birthday Button from your Disney Resort Hotel, at Guest Relations at all the Theme Parks and Disney Springs, or at all ticketing windows. Then watch as Cast Members and fellow Guests wish her “Happy Birthday!”

-Plan a Special Delivery or Experience with Disney Floral and Gifts. With a variety of packages and individual gifts, you can customize your selection for your birthday girl! There's a special gift for every Disney fan, ranging from pirates, Pixar pals, or Mickey Mouse.

There are many Enchanting Extras that may be currently closed but might be open in time for your June 2021 vacation. So check back frequently in case you have your eye on availability for something like the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, Disney’s Perfectly Princess Tea, or Pirate Adventure Cruises.

Like Tinker Bell, fly back to planDisney if you have more questions! Wishing a pixie dusted birthday for your pixie princess and a Disney vacation filled with magical memories!

    Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust,
