Ahoy there, Andrew. Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for taking the time to sail by planDisney with your question for us.
I’m happy to see you’ve booked a
Halloween on the High Seas sailing on the
Disney Treasure. My family and I have done the Eastern Caribbean cruise from Port Canaveral several times and we really enjoy this itinerary; we feel that a 7-day cruise allows for adequate time for the family to explore an expansive ship like the Disney Treasure.
I’m sorry to hear you were unable to select the early dining option at the time of booking. And unfortunately, sailing during Halloween also means it will be a busy sailing. However, there is still plenty of time between now and your sailing for things to change, including availability of dining times. I recommend checking periodically prior to your sailing on the
Disney Cruise Line or on the
Disney Cruise Line Navigation App to see if you are able to switch to an early dining.
If you’re still unable to switch your dining time, you can try again on Embarkation Day. Once you board the ship, you can speak with the Dining Room team to request for an early seating for dinner. Be sure to check the Disney Cruise Line Navigation App to see the location and time for this process. Of course, this change is not guaranteed and is based on availability.
My family and I have experienced both seatings during our Disney cruises and we actually prefer the more relaxing atmosphere during the later seating. During early evenings, while most families are getting ready for early dinner, the pools tend to be less crowded. If you’re traveling with little ones, snacks and light refreshments at
Mickey & Friends Festival of Foods can help tie them over before late dinner seating. Also, Disney Cruise Line recently brought back a very popular program, Dine and Play, during the late dinner seating. Children ages 3-10 can enjoy their dinner with their parents/guardians, then be whisked away for some fun and engaging activities with Youth Activities Counselors around 9:00 – 9:15 PM. It provides convenience but also allows parents/guardians to enjoy the latter part of dinner service without worrying about their children.
Andrew, I wish you a magical sailing on the Disney Treasure! If you have more questions for us, please don’t hesitate to stop by
planDisney again. We’re happy to help you plan an unforgettable Disney vacation.
SEA ya real soon,
Kiki
