Hi Melissa!
I am glad you stopped by the Disney Parks Moms Panel while resEARching for an upcoming Disney Cruise Line vacation! My family loves an adventure at sea with Captain Mickey and we have some of the best memories from our time onboard!
Disney Cruise Line does have
itineraries that include a stop at Port Canaveral, which then takes you to Walt Disney World Resort for the day! In fact, these itineraries leave from New York City, so they may be convenient for you! These sailings are on the Disney Magic and are currently scheduled for the fall of 2018 and 2019. Itineraries have not yet been released past the end of 2019, so if you are looking for a sailing further out, be watching for new schedules to be released in coming months. What is so great about a stop at Port Canaveral is that your cruise reservation also includes a one-day Park Hopper ticket to the theme parks for that day! So, not only do you get to enjoy everything a Disney Cruise has to offer, but you also get to visit Walt Disney World Resort for the day!
If your schedule does not allow for you to cruise when these sailings are scheduled, you may also want to consider a
Land and Sea vacation! Spend a few days at the theme parks and then head out on a Disney Cruise from Port Canaveral. The Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy regularly sail out of Port Canaveral and both visit Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay! Talk about doing it all – theme parks, cruise and a private island; sounds simply magical to me!
As you continue planning for your FIRST Disney Cruise Line vacation, please come back with any additional questions you may have!
Happy Sailing!
Stephanie
