Ahoy Stephanie –
Just imagine the joy and wonder on your little ones faces when they board the ship on their Disney cruise next year…Wow! I was so excited to answer your question because first of all, I just booked my 2017 cruise with Disney Cruise Line (yay!) and secondly, I have had the same dilemma of traveling with a toddler around the age of 3. You are correct, Stephanie, there are many considerations concerning cruising with babies and toddlers who are around 3 years of age. My little sea pup has cruised from his infancy, and he enjoyed his experiences so much as a baby and toddler that he would spend every vacation with Disney Cruise Line if we allowed him. The
Nursery is for tiger cubs ages 6 months to 3 years; it was a great place for my little guy to run around, play with toys, interact with Disney characters, and get personalized attention from the Youth Counselors. He enjoyed his nursery time so much that we allowed him to stay in the Nursery even after his 3rd birthday (of course when he turned 4 he had to go to the
Oceaneer Club which is for sea pups ages 3-12). The only caveat is that Nursery time needs to be reserved and there is a nominal hourly fee per child. I usually booked as much as I could online and then, after boarding, I reserved the rest of my desired time slots. If you wait until they are 3, the Oceaneer Club is just as amazing as the Nursery except there is no need to make reservations and no additional fees. Your tiger cubs would need to be completely potty-trained. Stephanie, I hope this helps you with planning your fabulous journey, and if you need additional assistance please come back to see us here.
