Looking to book a character meal 26-29

Hi Terri! Thanks for visiting planDisney.

Your trip is almost here, and I know you'll have the most magical time. We recently returned from our springtime visit to the Happiest Place on Earth, and that special visit included Character Dining. These meals are a great way to engage with your favorite Characters while sitting back and enjoying a delicious meal.

We dined with the Princesses at Napa Rose in Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa for a very elegant meal. The food at Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures was fit for royalty both in taste and presentation, and we met several princesses casually in the dining room and for posed pictures with a Disney PhotoPass photographer just beyond the food service area. We also took home a few special surprises to help remember the occasion.

You have a few additional options for Character Dining, including Mickey's Tales of Adventure Breakfast Buffet at Storytellers Cafe, which is also located in Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, Goofy's Kitchen at Disneyland Hotel, and Minnie & Friends - Breakfast in the Park at the Plaza Inn on Main Street, U.S.A. at Disneyland Park. That last one is the only Character Dining Experience located inside the parks, which does make it unique, but they're all great choices.

Unfortunately, with your trip just around the corner, it is unlikely that you'll find much availability for any dining location that requires reservations, including coveted Character Dining Experiences, which are very popular and do fill up. Dining reservations for Disneyland Resort typically open 60 days out, and these reservations can only be made online or using the Disneyland mobile app. I know that's probably not what you want to hear, but don't give up hope! I've got a couple of suggestions for attempting to secure a spot at a Character Dining location.

First, people's plans change. If someone cancels their reservation, it is possible to snag one for yourself even last minute. So keep checking availability. Persistence can pay off. Second, some dining locations offer a Walk-Up List. Check the map on the Disneyland mobile app for Walk-Up List availability by switching the selection from "Attractions" at the top to "Dining." Currently, it looks like Storytellers Cafe is offering a Walk-Up List. You'll see the option to join if it's available by tapping on the icon for the location. Tap to be put on the list.

Hopefully, you'll be dining with your pals in no time! If you're able to get a reservation the way I hope you do, be sure to take all the pictures. It's a meal you won't want to forget.
