Jambo, Oliver!
Thanks for trekking back to planDisney with another great question! I'm excited to hear about your upcoming visit and plans to dine at
Tusker House Restaurant. This is one of the last remaining character meals on my to-do list, and I'm hoping to tackle this culinary safari this summer.
As you've seen, breakfast is scheduled between 7:30 am and 10:30 am, while lunch goes from 11 am to 3:30 pm. There is a 30-minute reservation block as the breakfast buffet "migrates" to lunch, but this is a gradual process and should not affect your experience. There is another short 5-minute turnover between lunch and dinner, but the menus and pricing for those meals are the same.
In my experience, guests aren't given a time limit to finish their meals, especially when characters are involved, as it can take some time for them to journey around to each table. You should be able to feast on African-inspired breakfast creations like Shakshuka, Bobotie, and South African French Toast Bulkas, graze the buffet for favorites like Mickey-shaped waffles (and Simba waffles too!), and enjoy breakfast classics like made-to-order omelets, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and more without feeling like you need to race across the savanna. You might also get the
added bonus of sampling a few lunch items as they make the meal transition, as my pal Amy A shared with another guest.
I hope this puts you at ease, Oliver. If you have any additional questions as you prepare for a day of adventure at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, please come right back and let us know. We're wild about helping guests have magical vacations!
Magic and memories,
Amy
