Hello, Anita!
I'm so happy to welcome you back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! You will not be disappointed if you book an Alaskan cruise aboard the Disney Cruise Line! My family sailed to Alaska with Captain Mickey this past summer and had an unforgettable time exploring the Last Frontier! Choosing our
stateroom is one of my favorite things to do while booking a cruise.
Motion sickness is a common concern for many Guests, and the last thing you want is for the motion of the ocean to negatively impact your vacation! I completely understand choosing a stateroom location that mitigates the rocking of the ship. I have to tell you that I've been on two Alaskan cruises aboard the
Disney Wonder and in my experience, they were the smoothest sailings imaginable! If your cruise to Alaska is as smooth as both of mine were, I believe you and your family will be pleasantly surprised with how steady the ship is as it sails to each port of call.
My family and I actually chose a stateroom on Deck 7, Midship for our most recent cruise to Alaska aboard the Disney Wonder and loved it! Since we only had staterooms above us, it was a very quiet location. Also, Deck 7 is a quick elevator ride (or walk up and down the stairs) to the pool deck, restaurants and Youth Clubs. Because the water has been so calm during our experiences sailing to Alaska, we didn't notice much (if any) rocking while in our stateroom.
If you have any other questions before booking your Alaskan cruise, please come back and visit us again!
