Ahoy, Fouad!
Welcome aboard planDisney! Planning a Disney cruise to Alaska? Consider me Olaf-level excited for you! Combining the jaw-dropping beauty of the Last Frontier with the magic of Disney storytelling truly makes for an unforgettable vacation—and I can’t wait for your family to experience it.
When it comes to sailing with little adventurers,
the minimum age for most Disney Cruise Line itineraries—including those to Alaska—is 6 months old on embarkation day. If your compass ever points you toward a Transatlantic, South Pacific, Panama Canal, or Hawaii itinerary, just note that the minimum age jumps to 1 year due to the length of those sailings.
Now, as a dad who cruised Disney when my own kids were tiny Mouseketeers, I can confidently say that Alaska is more than just “doable” with young ones—it’s incredible. The kid-friendly
Port Adventures, the excitement of spotting whales and glaciers from deck, and of course, the chance to see beloved characters all bundled up in their Alaskan best… it’s pure magic. And don’t forget about
the Frozen deck party (if offered), where young Anna and Elsa fans can sing and dance “Into the Unknown” under the open sky—no snow boots required!
I’m betting you already know this but don’t forget to pack layers (yes, even in the summer!), and don’t forget binoculars. You never know what you might spot off in the distance on your Alaskan adventure!
I hope this helps you navigate your planning a little more smoothly. If more questions bubble up as you map out your family's big adventure, don’t hesitate to sail back my way—I’m always happy to be your planning first mate!
Sea ya real soon with a June full of sun, sea, and shipshape adventures,
Dustin
