Looking for a best cruise during 4/8-4/11 for the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom for my husband's birthday. It is only the two of us. Wasn't sure what route to go.

Hi Angela - welcome to planDisney!

Ooooooh, Ahhhhhhh! What would a Walt Disney World Resort vacation be without fireworks?! As part of the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration, you'll be experiencing a brand new nighttime fireworks spectacular - Disney Enchantment at Magic Kingdom Park!

There are a few great ways to enjoy the magic of Enchantment while floating peacefully in the Seven Seas Lagoon. If you are looking for something more private for the birthday guy, consider booking one of the Specialty Cruises on a private watercraft. These private chartered cruises depart from various marinas at Disney Resorts Collection resorts nearby, meaning most are just a quick Monorail ride from Magic Kingdom. There is not currently an online booking option, and availability is limited, so you'll need to call (407) 939-7529 to inquire about reservation availability.

There is also an exciting new option for fireworks viewing on the water - Ferrytale Fireworks: A Sparkling Dessert Cruise! Ferry instead of fairy, get it?! While this will not be a private event for just you two, it will include amazing water views of fireworks and a delectable spread of unique fireworks-themed treats and unique specialty drinks - both with and without alcohol. Currently, this Enchanting Extra is offered on select Wednesday and Saturday nights, so you'd be wanting to keep an eye out for Saturday, April 9th. Keep in mind that if you are checking in to a Disney Resorts Collection hotel on Friday, April 8th, you can book advance dining reservations (including this event) for your entire stay 60 days in advance of your check-in date. That will be coming up in just a few days!

Another unique experience that keeps the kaboom but moves you back onto dry land is the 50th Anniversary Celebration Menu at California Grill. This fabulous restaurant located atop Disney's Contemporary Resort is offering a unique celebratory dinner menu coupled with unsurpassed views of Disney Enchantment from 15 floors up!

One last little tidbit - I've often found myself on an unofficial fireworks cruise simply by using water transportation in Seven Seas Lagoon! The boats to and from the various Magic Kingdom Resorts don't take a break for the big show, so if your timing is right, you might intentionally (or accidentally) find yourselves enjoying some fireworks on the water without any additional cost!

I hope this helps you sprinkle some pixie dust on your husband's special day - please let me know if there are any other questions I can answer for you as you continue planning!
