Hi Nicole! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
Planning your Walt Disney World vacation with tweens can be tricky. Their tastes are changing, but they still want tons of fun. I have a couple of ideas that may help.
My family recently stayed at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside for the first time, and we really enjoyed it. One of the cool things about this resort is that it's almost like two hotels in one, because you can also use the amenities at its sister resort, Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter. Between these two resorts you'll find lots of different things to keep your tweens busy, like riding bikes, wandering the jogging trails or fishing. When they want to hit the pool, you can either go to Ol' Man Island with its splashtastic waterslide, or head to the French Quarter and dive into Doubloon Lagoon. You'll find unique New Orleans-style eats in both resorts, and you're just a boat ride away from Downtown Disney with all the food and shopping choices it offers, too.
If you think you might go for a resort hotel in the Deluxe category, you might consider something in the Epcot resort area. The Yacht and Beach Club Resorts feature the granddaddy of all Walt Disney World Resort pools in Stormalong Bay, and you'll be a short walk to Epcot or a boat ride to Disney's Hollywood Studios.
I hope these ideas help you find your family's perfect resort hotel, Nicole. Drop by again if you have any more questions. Wishing you a fabulous family vacation.
Have a magical day!
