Hi Shannon,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. I would absolutely jump at any opportunity to attend a conference at Walt Disney World! I’ve been lucky enough to attend sessions in the conference facilities at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and I really enjoyed the great facilities and fantastic location right beside Magic Kingdom Park.
Shannon, my recommendation is to reach out to Kid’s Nite Out, an independent childcare provider that offers
babysitting services at Walt Disney World. While "night" is in the name, they do offer services during the daytime hours too. You can reach them at (407) 828-0920, and you’ll be able to explain your needs and explore possibilities with their staff members. While they offer in-room babysitting, they may also be able to provide in-park assistance if you wanted your little Mouseketeer to visit the theme parks. Several of my friends and fellow Moms Panelists have used this service and given positive reviews, so I think that’s an option worth exploring.
Another possibility is to reach out to the conference organizer to see if they have made any arrangements for childcare services. I know people who have brought family members with them to enjoy the resort or theme parks with their children during the day while they've attended work events; you might want to compare the cost of childcare to the cost of bringing a grandparent or uncle along for some
magical time with your little one.
I hope that’s been helpful, and that you can find a way to attend your conference. Please come back and see us if we can help in any way!
Have a zip-a-dee-doo-dah day,
Robyn
