Looking at the annual passes, can I put more for the down payment to get lower payments?

    Hiya Julius,

Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney with your Annual Passholder question! As a fellow Florida resident and proud member of the Mickey Mouse Club—aka the Annual Passholder family—I can tell you from the heart that becoming an Annual Passholder has been one of our family's best decisions. It all started over a decade ago with just my husband and me, and now we’ve added our two little princesses to the mix! Some of our sweetest family memories have been made during spontaneous park visits—whether we’re chasing down every churro in Magic Kingdom or hopping over to Hollywood Studios to try all the Star Wars-inspired snacks (which we totally did in May).

What I love most about being an Annual Passholder is how it takes the pressure off. Some days, we’re zipping through rides with Lightning Lanes from rope drop to fireworks. Other days, we wander through EPCOT, snack in hand, enjoying the little moments without feeling like we have to do it all. Having that kind of flexibility makes the magic feel even more special.

Now, let’s get to your question. You’ll be happy to hear that you can put down more money at the time of purchase to lower your monthly payments. This is something my family does each time we renew our passes. The monthly amount is based on the remaining balance after your initial down payment, so putting more down upfront helps keep those monthly payments nice and low, kind of like letting Tinker Bell sprinkle some budgeting pixie dust! Just keep in mind that this needs to be done in person at a ticket window or Guest Relations location, such as the ones at the parks or Disney Springs. And don’t forget to bring a valid Florida ID to take advantage of the Florida resident pricing and payment plan options.

One of the lesser-talked-about perks of being a Passholder? The surprises! From limited-edition magnets to exclusive treats and merchandise, Disney always adds new pixie-dusted perks for us. This summer especially, there are a bunch of fun promos happening, so be sure to check the Passholder section on the Disney World website or the My Disney Experience app regularly to stay in the loop.

Julius, I hope this helps as you consider joining the Passholder family. If any more questions pop up, we’re always here to help.

    See you real soon,

    Christina
