Hey there, Corinne. Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. I have been an
Annual Passholder at Walt Disney World for several years now and it really is a great value.
At this time, the sale of new annual passes is currently suspended. I don't think the program is gone for good, however, because they are currently allowing people whose annual passes are about to expire to renew. There has not been an announcement yet about when the sale of new annual passes will resume. But when there is, that information will surely be posted on the
Disney Parks Blog and the Walt Disney World Annual Pass website. In addition to those people who are able to renew their annual passes, currently, there are two other groups of people who are being allowed to purchase an annual pass. Guests who have turned 3 years old and now need valid theme park admission are being issued annual passes as long as one of their parents is a current annual passholder and Guests who chose the option to have their pass refunded to them during the shut down are also being reissued annual passes. These Guests are able to purchase a new annual pass on a case-by-case basis by getting in touch with Guest Relations.
Until the annual pass program is available to everyone, currently, you are able to buy standard theme park admission or standard theme park admission with the park hopper option. I am so glad that at the start of this year park hopping has officially returned to Walt Disney World. In addition to purchasing tickets, you'll also need to make a
park pass reservation for the park (or first park of the day if you are park hopping) you'd like to visit each day. Before purchasing your tickets be sure to keep an eye on the
park availability calendar to know what parks are available on what days. If you are interested in park hopping, I should mention that while it is back, it does look a little bit different.
Here is how park hopping is currently working:
- Guests wishing to park hop must have valid theme park admission with the park hopper option
- Guests must make a park pass reservation for the first park they are wishing to visit each day
- Guests must scan in and enter the park with the park pass reservation before park hopping
- Park hopping hours start at 2:00 p.m. and continue until park closing
- Park hopping is subject to park capacity limitations at this time
I'm sorry I don't have better news about the annual pass program, Corinne. I have my fingers crossed it returns before your upcoming trip in June. If you have any other questions before you go, I'd love for you to come back and
ask me. Have fun!
