    I am looking ahead at planning our family's first Disney trip and would love to book it in time for my daughters 5th birthday on Feb 21 2014 but I am concerned the Princess 1/2 marathon will cause disruptions... will it be a problem at all?

    Hi Kim!

    A trip to Disney World is perfect for a 5 year-old little girl!  This will be a great trip. 

    You will see a lot of runners during your trip, but the crowd level won't really be affected in a huge way.  It will actually be much less crowded during the Princess Half Marathon weekend than it will be the weekend before it, due to President's Day.

    As far as the actual race causing problems, you won't really notice.  The road closures will affect traffic really early in the morning, but things will be back to normal by lunch.  The parks will open as usual, and the Disney bus drivers will know the alternate routes for any road issues.
