Looking for advice on what type of card to use at Disney world. I’m from the UK and don’t have a credit card. I planned on using a monzo travel card to charge magic band purchases and have on file for the $100 hold charge at hotel. Would you advise this?

    Hello Caitlin,

As the current, UK-based planDisney Panelist, it truly is my pleasure to welcome you here today.  I must tell you that there's nothing I love more than the opportunity of assisting a fellow Brit with their jolly holiday plans to visit the magic of Walt Disney World Resort.

Caitlin, you really are super smart to be thinking and planning your travel finances so well ahead of your August trip to Walt Disney World Resort.  I've been so incredibly lucky to have enjoyed holidaying with my family in the Sunshine State of Florida since my own childhood, and because I'm so ancient, I even remember having to go to the bank to arrange the now outdated, travellers cheques!

It might be useful for you to understand that at present, Guests are more than welcome to use any of these credit or debit card types as payment methods at Walt Disney World Resort -

     - Visa
     - MasterCard
     - American Express
     - Discover Card
     - Diners Club Charge Card
     - JCB (Japan Credit Bureau)

Shopping at Walt Disney World Resort is an unmissable part of anyone's visit!  For me, it's always a case of so many shops, so little time!  Caitlin, I'm happy to share with you that my own personal preference for spending in the U.S.A is always a credit card, and cash in US Dollars ($).

Plus, you'll be pleased to hear that Cast Members at the Lobby Concierge desk within each Disney Resorts Collection hotel are able to provide international Guests with the convenience of foreign currency exchange.  And, should you need them, you'll also find ATM machines on Walt Disney World Resort property too - although please be aware that a fee may apply!

I hope that I've been able to provide a little insight for you today Caitlin.  If you should have any further questions concerning your August summer holiday to the most magical place on earth, then please do pop back to me here at planDisney.

Have a great Disney day ~ Jane
