Hi, Looking for an activity outside of park time to surprise DH 2DS and DD (teens) with. I love doing something unique and fun, kind of Disney's hidden gem ideas. What are some ideas? Done La N. carriage and kids pirate cruise. Anything Else?

    Hi Jennifer,

Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. I love that you are looking for something fun and outside of the theme parks as a surprise for your family. I have a few ideas for you.

If you are all up for some great outdoor physical activity, consider the Wilderness Back Trail Adventure. On this two-hour tour, you will learn to ride a Segway X2, and then will explore Disney's Fort Wilderness on the Segway X2. I did this tour recently, and it was a lot of fun! It was great to learn how to ride the Segway X2, and then to glide around Disney's Fort Wilderness and learn more about this amazing resort.

For a less active experience, you could all take a ride in an Amphicar at The Boathouse Restaurant at Disney Springs. These unique vehicles appear as classic cars, but head into the water for a ride! Be sure to stay and sample some of the tasty fare at this new restaurant.

Finally, for a fun treat that the whole family can enjoy together, consider a fireworks cruise. On a fireworks cruise, your family will be on a boat with a cast member guide who will take you on a ride and then stop with a fabulous view of either IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth or Wishes Nighttime Spectacular. I have experienced both of these, and to see the fireworks from the serenity of a boat is truly magical. Please do note that fireworks are weather permitting.

I hope that this gives you a few ideas, Jennifer! Have a great time planning your magical vacation, and please do let us know if you have any further questions.
