Ahoy, Alyssa!
It's always good to see a fellow Marylander setting sail over here at planDisney! Before you know it, you'll be enjoying the high seas with Mickey and friends on the beautiful
Disney Treasure.
Alyssa, I can tell we'd be good friends, because I think the only thing better than planning one Disney vacation is planning several at the same time! Adding a visit to Walt Disney World Resort is the perfect way to end your Disney Cruise Line vacation with an extra pinch of pixie dust. To do this, you can search for availability at
hotels in the Disney Resorts Collection online and make a reservation that is completely separate from your cruise. Once booked, you can contact Disney Cruise Line or your travel agent to request
ground transportation from Port Canaveral to your Disney hotel. These transfers are available for a per-person fee and are subject to availability, so I would suggest calling to make arrangements as soon as you have a hotel plan in place, and at least a week before your cruise departure date.
With a larger party, you'll likely need to consider a
multi-bedroom villa or booking two standard rooms at a Disney hotel. If you choose to consider a villa, I'd recommend checking out
Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. The resort is an easy walk from the gates of
Magic Kingdom Park, saving you considerable time when you're ready to start your day. If you'd prefer to book two hotel rooms, you'll need to book your two rooms separately online, but you can request connecting or adjoining rooms by
contacting Tickets and Hotel Reservations. While room requests cannot be guaranteed, I've found that Disney does their best to accommodate when possible. Room availability may be limited this close to your trip, but I always enjoy a stay at one of the value resorts (like
Disney's All-Star Music Resort) when I'm in town for a short trip and keeping an eye on my budget. When booking your room, you'll also have an opportunity to add your park tickets! Keep in mind that you can always reach out to a Cast Member for assistance with the entire booking process if needed.
Don't forget that when you stay at a Disney Resort hotel, you can enjoy
several great benefits - including an advanced purchase window for your Lightning Lane passes! These can help you see and do a good bit of what the Magic Kingdom has to offer during your one-day visit. In order to take advantage of purchasing your
Lightning Lane passes seven days before checking into your resort, you'll want to make sure that everyone in your party is linked to a valid hotel reservation and theme park ticket. We like using a combination of Lightning Lane Multi-Pass and Lightning Lane Single Passes to ensure everyone in our family has the chance to experience their favorite rides and attractions!
Alyssa, I hope this information has been helpful and that you enjoy both a magical sailing and a wonderful visit to Walt Disney World Resort! Please stop by to see us again if you have more questions - we're all ears!
Cheers,
Kristi
