Looking for the accessibility information for our stay at the Port Orleans-French Quarter, but I'm not finding the answer. Are the pool facilities equipped for access by a wheelchair-bound guest? Are their lift chairs for transferring into the water?

    Hiya, Matthew!

As my pal Mickey Mouse says, “you’re as welcome as can be” here at planDisney and especially at the Walt Disney World Resort! I’m so happy to see that you’re planning a summertime trip, there’s so much to look forward to this year. Thank you for trusting our advice and asking about accessibility details for your upcoming stay at the beautiful Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter.

I’m sorry you couldn’t find the information you were seeking online, but I spoke to a friendly Cast Member who is a manager at the resort on your behalf. She confirmed that yes, both pools at Port Orleans have lifts. They are available for your use anytime the pool is open, and they are considered self-serve but of course you may always ask a nearby Cast Member or the lifeguards on duty for assistance with the power-operated lifts.

If you haven’t requested an accessible room, please know they are available at this resort. You may modify your reservation online or call to speak with Disney and change your room category to be sure you are most comfortable and have the features you need in your resort room.

Disney Parks are known for their accommodating style and being mindfully inclusive of those with various abilities to have a practically perfect theme park day. If you’d like to become familiar with the attraction and transportation access categories, be sure to review these details and speak with a Cast Member once on site for any additional needs. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Disability Services team with any requests so that you can make the most of this magical vacation. They can be reached at (407) 560-2547 or email disability.services@disneyparks.com.

I can’t hear that you’re staying at Disney's Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter without mentioning the Mickey shaped beignets! These famous fluffy snacks can be found at the Scat Cat’s Club - Café, a quick-service location near the lobby. In traditional New Orleans fashion that would make Princess Tiana proud, they are covered in powdered sugar, but you can add some special dipping sauces too. They just make you smile, so I hope you can treat yourself to one (or three) during your stay.

Please let us know if we can help in any way as well, Matthew! Our planDisney team would love to share details on anything, or more fun tips and tricks to help you have an amazing trip.

    YOU are the magic,
    Amy
