When I looked at another website .. it said the AK Lodge had studio rooms as well as 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom rooms. When you make a reservation through the disney website, is the "standard" room a studio room or something else?

Hi Marc and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is absolutely breathtaking. We stayed there last year with some family friends and we were all mesmerized by the animals on the Savannah right outside our room!

I think I can help you with your search for the perfect room for your group at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge has typical resort accommodations. These are what you would probably consider a standard resort hotel room. Two queen-size beds, one queen-size bed and one set of bunk beds, or one king-size bed and a day bed, a well-appointed bathroom, and deluxe resort hotel amenities.
I'm sure you know that right next to Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge you will find Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village. Kidani Village has Studios, One-Bedroom Villas, Two-Bedroom Villas, and even a few Three-Bedroom Grand Villas.
You can also find Studios and One-Bedroom Villas at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge by searching at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Jambo House. Availability for these rooms can be a bit scarce because they are popular with Disney Vacation Club members. I believe these are the rooms you are searching for.
With the variety of rooms available between Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Jambo, and Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village I hope you will find the perfect room for your vacation.

Marc, thank you for stopping by with another great question. I hope you'll let us know if you have any other questions!
Wishing you happy planning and a magical vacation,
    Amy H.
