I've looked at the Prohibited Items list and I could not find whether we can bring air purifiers for the staterooms. Also, whether battery operated lights (NOT STRING LIGHTS) in magnet for stateroom door decor are allowed.

    Hi Wendy,

Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for bringing your great questions for clarification on what items you may bring onboard a Disney cruise ship. Your Disney Cruise Line vacation is just around the riverbend, you must be so excited! With just a month to go, I love that you’re starting to take inventory and organize what to pack.  You’re smart to review the Prohibited Items list first, but unfortunately it doesn’t list every possible item Guests may want to bring onboard so I’m glad you asked. Let’s look at the details so you know what to expect on that magical embarkation day.

I’m pleased to share that yes, you may bring an air purifier with you, if it is not larger than 9.5 inches x 6 inches x 28 inches in size. However, please know that air purifiers are provided onboard all four ships and use a HEPA filter. You may request one from your Stateroom Host or Hostess rather than bringing your own to save space in your luggage. If you do choose to take it with you, please pack this fragile item in your carry-on bag rather than checked luggage. You may also bring small battery-operated lights to decorate with! That sounds so festive and fun, your stateroom door will definitely stand out in the hallway and make your neighbors smile.

While you’re getting organized to pack, check out this handy packing list from Disney Cruise Line. It looks like you’re sailing aboard the beautiful Disney Wonder on a Baja itinerary! I hope these additional details of your special evenings, particular to this sailing, help to think through your family’s attire:

    • Sunday, Embarkation Day – Cruise Casual
    • Monday, At Sea – Optional Dress Up
    • Tuesday, Cabo San LucasPirate Night
    • Wednesday, At Sea – Cruise Casual
    • Thursday, Ensenada – Cruise Casual

One item I always pack is a refillable, spill-proof bottle for each member of my family. We love to use the drink stations on the pool deck for unlimited complimentary water, soda, tea, and coffee throughout our cruise!

It sounds like you’re ready for smooth sailing in a few weeks, Wendy! All you need now is your favorite sunscreen and shades, and you’re going to have a fabulous time. Please don’t hesitate to ask us anything else as you finalize the details for this special vacation.

Wishing you blue skies and sunshine,
    Amy
