Hi - I looked up the 10 day weather forecast for this week and there is a 70% chance of thunderstorms for Tuesday morning and afternoon. Does everything close if it is lightning? Any suggestions of what we can do if it storms most of the day? Thx, Krista

    Hi Krista!

Thunderstorms are very common in Central Florida.  We've had many a trip where it has rained every day--but it generally is just short downpours that push out fairly quickly, so do make sure to pack your rain gear!

Some of the outdoor attractions like Test Track and Splash Mountain, Kali River Rapids, etc do close down if there is a threat of lightning (and don't worry, Disney has it down to a science!), but many of the other attractions will still be available to experience.

Actually, a rain storm is a great time to take advantage of smaller crowds (the rain often drives people away).  We enjoy spending time at Epcot in Innoventions (East and West) during a storm.  The Land Pavilion and The Seas with Nemo and Friends, are other great places to spend some time exploring.

Our motto:  Pack a poncho and a smile--because a rainy day at Disney is better than a regular day ANYWHERE else!

    Have a magical vacation!
