Hi Marla,
Welcome to planDisney! How exciting to hEAR that you are planning a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort!
I love your focus on resort room theming as you plan. To view photos of any resort hotel room, pull up the
resort hotel list. To see photos of the room options at each resort hotel, go to each resort hotel website and click on Room Rates. From there, you should see a list of room types at that resort. Underneath each room type, you should see a link to View Photos and dropdown arrows to View Amenities.
From that resort hotel list, you can search for availability, or you could use the
vacation package link to search and to get package prices. When searching, be sure to check the
Special Offers to see if there are any discounts applicable to the dates of your visit. When we started staying at deluxe resort hotels, I learned the value of booking early to secure the room type that fit our budget. At Disney's Contemporary Resort, for example, we typically book rooms in the Garden Wing. One year, I waited and those rooms were not available. Thankfully, I kept checking and was able to book one eventually, but lesson learned. Book early!
Once you book a vacation package, be sure to make
Disney Park Pass system reservations. If you have not done so already, create a
My Disney Experience account and list or link everyone traveling with you in your
My Family & Friends List. When you make those park pass reservations, you should be able to select everyone going to the parks with you from your My Family & Friends List. If you are not planning for everyone, just make sure they make their own park pass reservations. When your
advanced dining reservation window opens (currently, it's at 60 days prior to your trip), make dining reservations. If you need to change plans while in the parks, remember to use the
My Disney Experience Mobile App.
Marla, take some time to look over the resort hotel rooms, choose your resort, and then book that vacation package! We are so excited to welcome you to a world of magic!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
