Welcome to planDisney Karen!
Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter is truly my "home away from home." With it being the smallest of the Moderate Resorts, it has a homey feel and you fall into "vacation mode" the minute you step into the resort. The fresh made-to-order beignets might make this the best resort ever!
When heading to the theme parks, you will want to go to the one and only bus stop, located just a few steps from the main entrance. Buses run about every 20 minutes, and once on board, count on a 20-25 minute bus ride to any of the theme parks.
There are times when your transportation time will increase by about 15 minutes. If it is not a busy time (late morning, mid-day) your bus may stop at neighbors Port Orleans Riverside to loop their bus stops. This will add to your travel time, but you get a nice tour of the lovely resort. Because you just never know what the bus route will be, always allow plenty of travel time.
If you are on your way to
Disney Springs, you can take a bus. However, a bonus feature of both Port Orleans Resorts is the water taxi from the resorts that takes you to the middle of the fun in Disney Springs. Just head to the boat dock on the Sassagoula River to catch your "cruise" to Disney Springs.
Make sure to have the My Disney Experience app on your phone so you can stay updated on the bus arrival times to your resort. Just tap the 3 lines in the bottom right corner of the screen and select "Resort Hotel" to see bus arrival times, resort maps, and even unlock the door to your room! Seriously, there is just magic everywhere!
Enjoy your stay at Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter, and don't forget about those beignets!
