How long does it take from the ft wilderness cabins to get to magic kingdom, and how often do the buses come there to transport to the parks?

Hi Robyn! My family loves Fort Wilderness and whether it's a stay in the cabins or a recreational vehicle it is often our home away from home.

Depending on the loop you are in the bus or golf cart ride to the marina will take about 5-8 minutes. Using a golf cart allows you to not have to wait for a bus or make other stops so it is faster but the added expense for renting one is sometimes out of the budget. The buses run about every 15 minutes in the internal loops so it is an easy way to get around.

Once you are at the marina you will catch the boat to the Magic Kingdom. This is the only way to reach this park as there will not be a bus. The boat ride once you are on your way will be about 12-15 minutes. Hopefully you will be on a green flag boat as that is the direct route. If you get the flag that is half green and half red then you will be making a stop at the Wilderness Lodge. Unfortunately, you just have to take whatever boat comes along. With a stop at Wilderness Lodge it is at least a 15 minute ride. There can also be a slow down for the large ferry boats that cross the Seven Seas Lagoon so give yourself plenty of time to reach the park if you have a dining reservation or a Fast Pass time.

The Fort Wilderness bus system is just like any other Disney resort. You can either walk or take the internal bus to the front of the resort where the bus depot is located. Buses will run to Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, and Disney Springs continuously throughout the day. They generally run every 15-20 minutes to each park. When you are waiting for a specific bus be sure and check out the times board over the seating area to see how long you will be waiting for the next park bus of your choice. In the meantime you can watch the beautiful Disney horses that might be saddled up for the next trail ride as they are located right behind the bus waiting area!

    Enjoy your Fort Wilderness stay!
