Jambo, Russ! Welcome back to planDisney!
You’re in for a wild adventure, Russ!
Wild Africa Trek at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is such a phenomenal experience. It’s hard to believe that it all happens inside of a theme park. That’s the magic of Disney!
To answer your question, Russ, there’s a fair bit of walking involved with the Wild Africa Trek tour. The full tour lasts 3 hours, but it’s important to note that this is not 3 hours of uninterrupted walking. During your tour, you’ll stop at several places to see the animals, get some fun facts from your guide, and even have lunch out on the Savanna! There are some bridges and ladders involved as well, but when I did the tour, our guide took it nice and easy and I never felt rushed. For a portion of the experience, you also head out on the Savanna in a truck, similar to the
Kilimanjaro Safaris attraction. It’s a smaller truck and it can go off track, which is awesome!
One of the highlights for me was the photos I got from the experience. A photographer will also join your group and take both posed and candid shots during the tour. At the end of the expedition, the photographer will give you a card with a code that you can use to access and download your photos. And let me tell you, they are some of my favorite photos ever from my many visits to
Walt Disney World Resort!
I hope this answers your question, Russ! Have a wonderfully wild time on your Wild Africa Trek! I’m confident that you’ll thoroughly enjoy the experience. If you have other questions as you continue to plan your visit, please don’t hesitate to come back and see us here at
planDisney. We’re always happy to help!
Kwaheri!
