Hi Paola!
Welcome to planDisney! I am so happy to be your planEAR today!
This is a great
Disneyland Resort planning question! Many guests, both local and from all over, drive in for the day to visit Mickey and his pals. I love
parking in the
parking structure and walking to The Happiest Place on Earth. It's well lit, security is constantly out monitoring just in case, and most of the route is on the inside edge of the 'Disneyland Bubble'. Plus it's a great way to work off some of those great Disneyland snacks!
According to Google maps, the walk is about .9 of a mile. Guests currently have two options to make this trek: there's a permanent walking path that has direct access from and back to the second floor of the Pixar Pals side of the parking structure. (Which can also be accessed from the Mickey & Friends side by either cutting across the garage or getting to the ground level of the structure and then going up to level two of the Pixar escalators.) The path ends at an entrance on the West side of the Downtown Disney District, where you'll then go through bag check and make your way east towards The Esplanade. This walk usually takes me about about 20 minutes from car to gate, and add in another 5 to 15 to consider the bag check.
We also have the option right now of walking the parking structure tram loop while that service is still paused. The benefit of the tram loop is you can enter a bigger, brighter, and more staffed bag check area. I also prefer the tram loop on my way to the parks because it means I can bypass the majority of the shops and restaurants in the
Downtown Disney District so my preschooler can't throw a fit about wanting to go in every store and buy all the things before our Disney day has even begun, ha! To use the tram loop you'll head to the center of the ground floor level of both the Pixar Pals and the Mickey and Friends sides of the structure, go through the security check and follow the others from there. (And pro tip while you're walking: keep your eyes peeled in the greenery as you might spy some of the famous Disneyland cats!)
I hope this helped to clEAR things up, Paola. And if you have any more Disneyland Resort Planning Questions, We're All Ears!
