“Hi, how long it would take to walk from AK entrance at rope drop to avatars flight of passage? We have reservations at Rain forest café for breakfast at at 8:30 AM. Probably a really silly question.

    Hi, Carrie!

There are no silly questions when it comes to planning the perfect Walt Disney World Resort vacation. (But there are silly Disney Parks Moms Panelists.) Confession: I still haven't seen this movie. But this land, Pandora - The World of Avatar, and its attractions are so beautiful, that I simply must stop by each time I visit Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. The actual walk from the entrance turnstiles to the queue for Avatar Flight of Passage is between 10 and 15 minutes.

The walk + the actual time it takes to experience this attraction starting right at the park's opening might not work with your early breakfast reservation. But don't lose hope! My amazing friend and fellow Disney Parks Moms Panelist Lindsey N. and I rope dropped this park in March. Cast Members asked those of us who were there for Pandora - The World of Avatar to stand to one side of the entrance gates, where were allowed to start the park entry process about 20 minutes before the official opening time. They then led us to the Flight of Passage queue, and we were basically in the attraction's line as soon as the rope dropped that morning. There are no guarantees for an early morning entrance this week, but to try to be first to fly no matter when guests are allowed in, aim to get to Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park an hour to 90 minutes before the listed opening time.

Another idea is to try for an evening journey as the standby wait time tapers off later in the day. And technically, as long as you're in the queue of an attraction when the park closes, you'll still be allowed to ride, even if you jump in the queue at the very last possible minute of the listed park hours. Disney's Resort Bus transportation even runs until two hours after each park's closing hours to accommodate the night owls.

We'll See You Real Soon, Carrie! Sivako!
