How long does it usually take to get from Magic kingdom to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa? And what is the quickest way there?

Greetings Roxanne, welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for your question. I just love the Monorail resorts- Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, and always make a point of visiting all three when riding the Monorail.

Reaching Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa from Magic Kingdom Park can be done by:
    • Monorail-the approximate wait varies between 5-10 minutes and you pass through Disney's Contemporary and Disney's Polynesian Village Resorts on your way to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa which is approximately 15-20 minutes considering stopping to allow exit and entry of Guests.
    • Water Taxis- will leave Magic Kingdom Park approximately every 10-15 minutes depending on the time of year and will take you to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa in approximately 5-10 minutes. Allow some time for Guests to enter and exit the Water Taxi.

Complimentary Resort Transportation is available to Guests from 45-minutes prior to Disney Theme Park opening and up to one hour after Disney Theme Park closing.

    Tip:
While riding the Monorail through the Disney Resort hotels, it's fun to get off and explore the different themes in each hotel. Disney Imagineers have taken great strides in creating an authentic experience at every Disney Resort hotel, which is quite fascinating to see. The details are many with a significance and story attached to each.

Roxanne, I hope this information is helpful with your planning, and we look forward to assisting you with your future vacation planning to the Walt Disney World Resort.
