Hi Charlotte,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I love that you are estimating transportation time to the parks now! Too often on my family's first visits, we underestimated the amount of time we needed.
To estimate, we now always use the
My Disney Experience Mobile App. The App has a nice "Get Directions" feature that will provide transit options between locations and estimated transit times with each option. When I checked transit times to the parks from Disney's Pop Century Resort using the mobile app, here were the estimated times:
- To Magic Kingdom - 49 minutes using Walt Disney World® Bus Service
- To Epcot - 45 minutes using Walt Disney World® Bus Service
- To Disney's Hollywood Studios - 41 minutes using Walt Disney World® Bus Service
- To Disney's Animal Kingdom - 41 minutes using Walt Disney World ® Bus Service
When I stayed at Disney's Pop Century Resort recently, in general, I felt as if the bus rides took about 45 minutes so I believe the mobile app provides a good estimate. To check the directions and times on the mobile app, use the search feature to identify the starting location. Once you pull up that first location, you should see a menu option that says "Get Directions." Once you click on "Get Directions, you should be able to type in the name of the second location.
Charlotte, I would allow at least an hour and a half to get to a park for rope drop - just in case you miss a bus, you should still have time to catch the next one and get to the park in time. I hope this helps!
Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
Donyell
