Well hello there Kevin, it's great to see you back at planDisney!
There really is nothing like embarking on an expedition to the wilds of Africa and Asia at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park and taking time for a delicious rest stop along the way; I'm so glad that you've come back to ask a
Yak & Yeti Restaurant question as my husband and I just ate there recently at a similar time of day!
In our experience, the entire meal took just about an hour in total for us from the moment that we had arrived for dinner until after we had paid and sauntered out to conquer
Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain on some very full stomachs. It definitely helped that we had
previewed the menu in advance of our visit, which made it a very easy experience deciding what to order - as it turns out, they even had additional special menu items that you might not find on the menu online and we chose to order some of these as well!
I also highly recommend looking into acquiring a new
Landry's Select Club membership before you dine as it allowed us to be seated immediately without any wait without an advance reservation, and we were also offered credit towards our meal; it may be useful if you also intend on eating at restaurants like
T-REX at Disney Springs and
Rainforest Cafe on your upcoming visits. While your experience may vary, we found our servers to be very attentive and swift in the midst of Spring Break crowds - even despite our table being located on the upper level overlooking the gateway into Asia. (I can only imagine that your food and beverages might arrive slightly quicker if you were seated closer to the kitchen.)
Speaking of the view, I highly recommend requesting a window table upstairs as you not only get a chance to watch fellow guests off on their animal adventures from above, but you'll get the chance to see some spectacular theming scattered across both levels of the restaurant. Ironically, one of the most entertaining things that we spied from the windows was
Kevin's hilarious interactions with adults and children as she gracefully made her way through the crowds. If you're lucky, you might be able to snag a photo of with your similarly-named feathered friend when you visit!
While you're there, don't miss out on the newest opportunity to
meet Moana at the nearby Character Landing as long as you plan to do so before your meal - she currently tends to set sail and continue wayfinding well before 4:00 P.M. EST.
Let me know if you have any more questions ahead of your next Disney adventure - culinary or otherwise!
Here's to your yummy Yak & Yeti expedition in the near future!
