How long will the trail between the lodge and the campground remain closed? We visited fort wilderness and noticed the trail is all fenced out.

    Hi Ernesto!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

The lovely walking trail that connects Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort with Disney's Wilderness Lodge is currently closed due to the construction work of a brand new Disney Resort hotel: Reflections, A Disney Lakeside Lodge, taking place between the two Resort hotels.  At this time we don't have an opening date for the new hotel, but it is hoped that there will still be a walking trail between the Resorts.  It did provide a relaxing place to take a peaceful walk, so let's hope it will be back before too long.  Keep your eye on the Disney Parks Blog for all the latest official updates.

You can still take a bus or boat between the two hotels.  In fact, I love the boat ride, which connects these two hotels with Disney's Contemporary Resort, and runs continually throughout the day. I often enjoy the round-trip, just for the fun of it.  It's also an easy way to visit the other hotels for a meal or to have a look around.  At Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort there are many other ways to explore, with bike rentals, pony rides and wagon rides.

It's worth visiting Disney's Wilderness Lodge just for the amazing views over Bay Lake!  If you take the opportunity to dine at Geyser Point Bar & Grill you will enjoy the waterfront views while you eat.   I thoroughly recommend a visit here.  A really good way to explore the hotel is to ask for a list of Hidden Mickeys at the Front Desk.  This hunt will take you around the whole resort, inside and outside - and some of them are really tricky to find!

Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions. We will be happy to help!
