Hello! I am a long time Disneyworld guest who is not sure about how to proceed with my Disneyland reservations. Can I book a special event dining package, like Fantasmic, for myself and someone on my friends and family list?

Hi there, Annalisa. Welcome to planDisney - we're glad you are here!

How exciting that you want to book a special event dining package! I recently snagged a Fantasmic! Dining Package at Blue Bayou Restaurant for me and some of my pals in June, and I cannot wait. So let's get to your question!

Unlike, the My Disney Experience Mobile App for Walt Disney World, there is no"Friends and Family" linking option in the Disneyland Mobile App. If you want to share Genie+ and Lighting Lane plans with anyone in your group, you will want to link their theme park ticket in the "Ticket and Passes" section of the app. Please note that it is fine to have a theme park ticket linked in multiple apps; I have my parents' Magic Key Passes in my app so I can make all of us theme park reservations together.

To make a dining reservation, all you need is to be logged in to your MyDisney Account and have a headcount for your group. Once you've made the reservation, you will get an email with a confirmation number. About 15 minutes before your reservation, you can use the Disneyland Mobile App to check in to your dining reservation. If you have notifications enabled on your phone, the app will even send you a reminder when it's time to check in. Alternatively, you or anyone in your group can also check in for the reservation with a Cast Member at the restaurant using the confirmation number and the name the reservation was booked under.

Annalisa, I hope this helps with your dining reservation planning. If you need more help or have another planning question, please come back and see me. I'd love to help!

    See you real soon,
    Melissa
