    How long does it take to get from the ticket gate at Magic Kingdom to Chef Mickey? Can we take the monerail to the Disney Contemporary Resort and how long will the travel time take? We have a reservation form 11:15 am and just trying to plan out the day.

    The Contemporary Resort is the first monorail stop after the Magic Kingdom. Although the ride itself is probably 3 minutes from the Magic Kingdom to The Contemporary, my guess, depending on wait-time for the monorail, is that it might take you about 15 minutes via monorail from the gate.

    You can also walk from the Magic Kingdom to The Contemporary. It's about an 8-minute walk if you know where you're going. You walk out the gates to the left, follow the sidewalk on the left past the buses and cross following the sidewalk in from of Bay Lake Towers toward the bus loading zone at the hotel.

    I'd recommend the monorail just for the fun of the ride!
