Hiya!
Welcome to planDisney, pal! We are so excited that you are here and that we get to help you prepare for your upcoming summer vacation. I definitely wouldn’t call myself an outdoorsy girl, but if you combine the Most Magical Place on Earth with camping, I might be able to be convinced (especially if
campfires and s'mores are involved)! But enough about me, let’s get to your question.
What a great question, by the way. When I looked at the
Fort Wilderness reservations, I noticed that the site mentions there is room for a pop-up camper or a “camper van-type” vehicle, but a teardrop camper wasn’t explicitly listed. Luckily, I was able to chat with a friendly Cast Member about your question to learn a little more. What I learned is that a teardrop camper can be considered a camper van for the purposes of a tent or pop-up campsite reservation. The key point they wanted me to share is that the camper must fit within the concrete pad space of 10 ft by 25 ft. Since you mentioned that your camper is 16’ long, that does fit within the concrete pad space, additionally you are permitted two tents on the concrete pad as well so you should be all set for your trip in a couple of months!
I hope this was helpful, friend. Before I let you go, don’t forget to take advantage of the
water park benefit on the day you check in to Fort Wilderness. Nothing cools you off faster on a warm summer day than floating along
Castaway Creek at Typhoon Lagoon or
Cross Country Creek at Blizzard Beach. It is the perfect way to kick off all of the magical summer fun of your vacation, in my opinion! I hope that you have the very best trip ever, and please, if you need anything else, come back and see us. We are always here when you need us!
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
