Hi Heather. Thank you for reaching out to planDisney!
I really enjoy the
Disney After Hours events that take place at different parks at various times of the year. My family and I attended one of these events at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park and it was a very memorable experience. It was like having the whole park to ourselves! We got to ride
Avatar Flight of Passage in
Pandora - The World of Avatar five times! While After Hours events are not currently being offered at Animal Kingdom at this time, you will usually be able to get a bunch of rides done in a shorter amount of time at similar events at
Magic Kingdom Park and
Disney's Hollywood Studios. When I do an After Hours event, I usually do not visit a park during the day. Instead, I relax at the resort, visit
Disney Springs, or make an
advanced dining reservation for a restaurant at one of the
Disney Resorts Collection Hotels. This way, I'm rested and ready for a late night in the parks!
If you are planning on being in a park on a day when an After Hours event is taking place (and you are not attending the event), you will need to exit the park at standard park closing time. Depending on the event and day, this may be the same time as the start of the event or earlier. These times will be listed on the
Theme Park Hours Calendar on the website and on the
My Disney Experience mobile app. You will see the standard theme park hours listed as well as the hours of the Disney After Hours event that is taking place. The same general policies usually apply to events like
Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (both in Magic Kingdom Park). Please keep in mind that all times and policies are subject to change, but keep an eye on that calendar and it won't steer you wrong!
Heather, whether or not you attend a Disney After Hours event, you're bound to have a very magical time at the Walt Disney World Resort! If you have any questions in the future, please feel free to
reach out to planDisney again. We are always happy to help!
The magic is calling,
Matt
