Hiya, Christy!
How exciting that you're counting down to a vacation in The Most Magical Place on Earth! I'm so glad you reached out to planDisney for assistance.
I think you'll be thrilled you chose to call
Disney's Art of Animation Resort your magical home away from home. Between the larger-than-life icons of decades gone by (don't miss the Mickey telephone!),
The Big Blue Pool, and its incredible location on the Disney Skyliner, there's so much to love! Speaking of the
Disney Skyliner, it's such a convenient and fun way to reach both EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios. Whenever I'm gliding through the air aboard one of the aerial gondolas I like to pretend that I'm Tarzan leisurely swinging to my next destination (Tarzan-inspired jungle call optional).
If you're traveling from Disney's Art of Animation to EPCOT using the Skyliner, it's important to remember that there is not a direct line between the two, so you will need to transfer gondolas at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. There's helpful signage to show you the way. You can expect the entire trip to take between 20-25 minutes of travel time. Of course, it's important to factor in the time spent queueing for the Skyliner at both Art of Animation and Caribbean Beach Resort. This will vary by time of day, day of the week, and overall crowd levels. In my experience, you can expect a longer line for the Skyliner in the morning at your Resort hotel as people head to the theme parks, but don't let it deter you! Cast Members are incredibly efficient, and the line will move surprisingly fast. Personally, allowing an hour when traveling between destinations at Walt Disney World has worked well for my family.
As a bonus travel tip: Did you know that your My Disney Experience app can guide you to your next destination? Simply select your destination either in the map feature or from the search bar and then select 'Get Directions'. This will helpfully provide step-by-step directions to your next destination and even give an estimated travel time. Just like magic!
I hope this was helpful, Christy, and has encouraged you to
come visit us again at planDisney with any other questions that arise as you plan. In the interim, planDisney recently released a
podcast episode and
Disney Parks Blog feature on Walt Disney World transportation options that I encourage you to check out before you arrive.
Thinking Happy Thoughts,
Lizzie
