Hello there, Pat! Welcome back to
planDisney, and thank you so much for sending in another great question. It sounds like you’ve got the perfect land-and-sea adventure coming up, and I’d love to help you figure out what to expect once you’re back on dry land and heading to
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort!
There are a couple of popular transportation options when traveling from Port Canaveral to
Walt Disney World, and the timing can vary depending on which one you choose and how busy things are that day.
If you’re planning to use Mears Connect, which is a third-party shuttle service often used by Disney Guests, you’ll have two options: Standard or Express service. With the Standard service, you may be sharing your shuttle with other travelers headed to different Disney Resort hotels, which means you could have a few stops before arriving at the Polynesian. This can extend your travel time a bit depending on the route that day.
The Express option, on the other hand, offers a direct ride to your resort, with no extra stops along the way. This tends to be a faster and more predictable choice, with typical travel times ranging from 45 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic and departure timing.
If you're sailing with
Disney Cruise Line and using Disney’s official ground transportation, you’ll also be well taken care of! Their bus service from the cruise terminal to Walt Disney World takes about an hour on average, based on current travel estimates. It’s smooth, comfortable, and full of Disney magic from start to finish!
Pat, I hope this gives you a clearer idea of what to expect as you make your way to the tropical paradise of the Polynesian. If you have any more questions about your post-cruise plans, I’m always here and so happy to help!
Warm hugs,
Ana Paula
