How long after I purchase a Walt Disney World annual pass do I have to activate it? Does the “one year” of the annual pass begin at time of purchase? Or, does it begin at the time of activation?

    Hey Sean!

Welcome to planDisney. Thank you for sending us your wondEARful question about Walt Disney World Resort annual passes.

Sean, your Walt Disney World Resort annual pass certificate will expire one year from the purchase date. In other words, you have one year to activate your Walt Disney World Resort annual pass.

After one year, the amount paid for your unused, expired annual pass certificate may be applied towards the purchase of a new annual pass (at current prices) so long as the new annual pass purchase price is equal to or greater than the amount paid for the original annual pass certificate.

Once you exchange your annual pass certificate and activate your annual pass, it will not expire for an entire year, Sean! Your passholder year begins the moment you exchange your annual pass certificate and officially activate your annual pass.

Sean, I hope this helps answer your question. If you have any other questions, please visit planDisney again. We are all EARS!
