How long does it take for my payment to go back on my card after I cancel a room only reservation?

Hi Jessica, and welcome back to planDisney!

Because of one reason or another, I know a thing or two about Disney Resorts Collection hotel room-only cancellations. I’m never happy to, but life happens. I still have dreams of having a relaxing Valentine’s Day weekend with my husband at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn…But when exactly can you expect a refund of your deposit? Let’s get into it!

First, if you want your full deposit returned, you’ll want to cancel up to 5 days in advance of your arrival date. And if you still need to cancel your room-only reservation, you can find more information about that here on the Walt Disney World Resort website’s FAQ section.

In the past, I have received my refund pretty quickly. In general, it takes between 7 and 10 business days to see the returned payment back in your account. The turnaround time also depends on the speed in which your bank account processes the refund.

Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question, Jessica. If you have any other questions about future trips to The Most Magical Place on Earth (and beyond!), please reach out to us here. We are more than happy to help a fellow Guest have the best trip possible.

    Magic always,
