Hi Julia,
Thanks for visiting Disney Parks Moms Panel.
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is a simply stunning resort and one of my favorites. I absolutely love the feel and the ambiance of the resort. I especially love listening to the Grand Floridian Society Orchestra playing their jazz.
As a
Monorail Resort, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is
just a few stops from Magic Kingdom. The Resort Monorail makes stops at Disney's Contemporary Resort, the Transportation and Ticket Center, and Disney's Polynesian Village Resort before reaching Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. The travel time in all will depend on how many Guests are waiting for the Monorail and how many Guests are boarding and exiting. I've taken the Resort Monorail from Magic Kingdom to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa in a quick 10-15 minutes, and I've also waited a bit longer during crowded times like park closing.
Another wonderful option for traveling from Magic Kingdom to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is to travel by
water launch. As with the Resort Monorail, the travel time in all will depend on how many Guests are waiting to board. The boat ride time itself is about 10 minutes or so.
One of my favorite ways of getting around Walt Disney World is to enjoy all the different transportation modes, and I'll often take the Resort Monorail sometimes and the water taxi at other times. They're both enjoyable rides with spectacular views.
Enjoy your Disney
Jerry
