How long does it take to get from Magic Kingdom to Epcot and what is the easiest way

    Hi Karen,

Welcome to planDisney! Your magical Walt Disney World vacation will be here before you know it, so I'm happy you stopped by for help in planning your travel between Magic Kingdom and Epcot.

To make the journey, you will simply climb aboard the monorail at the Transportation and Ticket Center (the TTC) that is bound for Epcot. From Magic Kingdom, the easiest way to get to the TTC is to hop onto the Express Monorail, which takes about 10 minutes from Magic Kingdom. There, you'll transfer to the monorail for Epcot.

You can also take the ferry to the TTC if you prefer, though it may take a few minutes longer.

The ride from the TTC to Epcot lasts about 15 minutes. You will loop through Epcot, which looks gorgeous from above, and disembark right at the front entrance to Epcot.

If you have a dining reservation or other time-sensitive commitment, I'd allow an hour for travel time, though it likely will take less than that, depending on how long you wait to board the monorail at Magic Kingdom and the TTC.

There are other options, such as taking a bus from Magic Kingdom to the BoardWalk resort and walking to the International Gateway entrance of Epcot (which puts you between the United Kingdom and France pavilions in the World Showcase). Or you can take a Minnie Van from the entrance of Magic Kingdom to the front of Epcot for a fee.

I always enjoy the scenery as you glide between the TTC and Epcot. We've sometimes seen deer and other wildlife below. That journey is my husband's favorite ride at Walt Disney World.

Did you know, Karen, that you can use the My Disney Experience Mobile App to help you navigate around Walt Disney World? The "Get Directions" and transportation features can show you which means of travel (bus, monorail, boat or Skyliner) are available and give you approximate travel times. And, if you are at a bus stop at a resort, you will usually find a monitor that lets you know when the next bus for your preferred destination will arrive.

Thanks for your question, Karen. Please let us know if you need any more information, recommendations or suggestions as your vacation nears. We're always here to assist.

    Enjoy,

    Wilma
